Visionary Blueprint

The increasing recognition of the needs of single women over 55 and proposes a hypothetical intentional community design on 25 acres with 360 housing units and 25,000 square feet of commercial spaces.

The community aims to provide a sense of belonging, security, and empowerment for its residents, addressing various aspects of life.

Key features include a car-free environment to promote a healthier and more communal lifestyle, community gardens and greenhouses for sustainable produce and therapeutic activities, and spaces for sharing experiences and preserving collective wisdom.

The intentional community goes beyond physical spaces, celebrating the rich tapestry of stories and knowledge among its residents. Ultimately, the design emphasizes individual autonomy within a supportive community, offering a progressive and inclusive model for aging with purpose and vibrancy for single senior women.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • There are four

    sizes/types of Golden Spaces.

    • The estate units are 2,200 square feet,

    • The cottage units are 850 square feet with one bedroom.

    These units will be available in one, two, or four units per

    building configurations.

    • The bungalow units with two-bedrooms are 1,050 square

    feet. These units will be available in one, two, or four units

    per building configurations.

    • The shared housing units are 8 suites of 265 square feet

    and 3,000 square feet of common areas. Meals and

    general assistance are available in this housing type.

  • There will be choices

    for ground or second floor spaces for all unit types except the

    estate units.

  • There will be

    HOA dues for grounds and building maintenance. There will be

    optional fees for additional services the resident may desire

    purchasing.

  • The units will be

    built to net zero energy standards, but you will be responsible

    for water, sewer, waste collection, and communication utilities.

  • There will be units available

    for rent and ownership opportunities are available.

  • Golden Spaces are

    similar to a condominium as a way to provide for common

    amenities, but the ownership type is different than a

    condominium.

  • Ownership comes by purchasing shares of stock of the corporation that owns the lands and the buildings. At the time of purchase, you also receive a modified life estate in a unit that grants you the right to live there for the rest of your life, or until your health or living conditions change, necessitating additional care. When that occurs, the corporation will exercise its option to buy back your shares, or require you to transfer your shares by sale, donation, or will, to another qualified individual.

  • The corporation shares may be bequeathed.

  • Your unit occupancy rights could be added to the rental pool and your daughter could benefit from rental income until she is ready to move in. The unit would be managed by the Golden Spaces Community.

  • Financing is available for your stock purchase, subject to borrower qualifications.

  • Floor plan changes are not allowed, but decorating options will be available, including the opportunity to upgrade many items.

  • Golden Spaces will reserve a buy back option on all sold units to facilitate an easy and quick ownership change.
